Eat your way to glowing skin!

Want truly glowing skin – youthful and vibrant?!

What you feed your body is more important than what you feed your skin.

“You are what you eat!” Everything you consume doesn’t just nourish your body inside but also becomes part of your outer fabric as well.

Eating a balanced diet is your best bet to keep your skin ever-glowing and healthy. Yet, there are certain foods that are a major happy treat to your skin! 💖

  • Avocados 🥑

Avocado salad for good skin

Hydration is the key to radiant skin.

Avocados contain no sugar or refined carbohydrates and provide unsaturated fats, fibre, and water – which is essentially the perfect recipe for healthy skin. Nutrients that are specifically considered powerhouses for skin health—including vitamins C and E, and niacin– are present in them.

Besides the Guacamole, Avocados makes yummy salads too!

I hope you enjoy the Avocado Salad Recipe as you feed your skin right.

  • Berries 🫐

Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and plums– What’s common among these berries is their high antioxidant content.

Free radicals – caused by UV exposure, air pollution, foods high in glycemic index, carbs, or sugar, preservatives; and the likes – damage the membrane of skin cells, potentially allowing damage to the DNA of that cell.

The antioxidants and other phytochemicals (that boost the effect of antioxidants) in these berries can protect the cells from damage, which guards against premature ageing and keeps your skin youthful.

  • Tomatoes 🍅

Collagen is a protein that keeps skin strong and resilient maintaining elasticity and hydration. As you age, collagen production depletes, leading to dry skin and the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

Tomatoes — especially sun-dried tomatoes — are high in vitamin C that is needed for collagen production. They also contain the antioxidant lycopene, which protects the skin from sun damage and collagen breakdown.

Toss these in a salad or place them on top of your pasta to add a little tang to your plates. But, eat them Every-Single-Day!

  • Walnuts 🌰

Stress can cause wrinkles to form because of high amounts of cortisol, the stress hormone that breaks down the skin’s collagen and elastin.

Walnuts are a good source of vitamin B, which is an essential vitamin for easing stress and boosting mood. They also contain vitamin E, which is known to fight free radicals again.

Walnuts are high in healthy Omega-3 fats that strengthen the membranes of your skin cells, locking in moisture and nutrients. This keeps the skin plump and glowing and keeps out toxins that can damage skin cells.

  • Dark Chocolate 🍫

One piece of dark chocolate a day keeps the skin ageing away! 😉

Ground rule: The darker the better!

Dark chocolate can work wonders when it comes to soothing irritated skin since it is a natural anti-inflammatory. The bioactive compounds in dark chocolate may also be great for your skin. The flavonols can protect against sun damage, improve blood flow to the skin, and increase skin density and hydration.

So, next time you plan a beach vacation – consider enjoying some extra dark chocolate in the prior weeks and months. (Do check with your doctor, if you have to!)

Feeling good in our skin is a lifetime journey— beginning healthy habits early can guard against premature ageing and other skin ailments later! These 5 are my favourites to keep my skin healthy, strong, and attractive. I hope you enjoy them while preserving your youthfulness!!
